Akermanite/alginate composite as promising material for wound healing

imagesA new injectable hydrogel can stimulate in situ skin regeneration. This material is based on an akermanite/alginate composite. The akermanite component not only acts as an active cross linker, but also can istimulate the activation of the wound healing process.

Furthermore it is able to help the healing of chronic wounds, showing to be highly promising in the field of tissue engineering.
