Molecularly imprinted polymers to purify water

Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIP) can be considered as artificial receptors which can recognize and bind specific molecules.

This makes them suitable for many different applications in chemistry and biology, including water purification, as they can recognise and remove specific contaminants.
